The secret to a beautiful design is to create a space that reflects your unique personality and sense of style.  No two houses are the same, nor should they be!  So, if you want polka dots and stripes on your wall, so be it!

The key is to make sure that you are designing a space that you and you alone want to live in.  A space that brings you comfort and joy!  A space that each time you enter it, it brings a smile to your face and offers you a sanctuary-like experience. That! That is how you unlock the secret to designing a beautiful space.

As you embrace your inner creativity, ideas will begin to develop.  You’ll start to envision yourself in a space that will welcome you home time and time again. 

Now that you know the secret, “where do I begin you ask”?  Well, the first step is to make a list of things that you like.  Consider your favorite color and browse through a few magazines and websites to discover which pictures are most appealing. 

Next, think about how you want to feel once you enter the space.  Are you seeking a casual or elegant atmosphere?  Do you have an inspiration piece?  This could be anything that makes you feel special or that is particularly meaningful.  A few examples include a vase, artwork or a family heirloom. 

Then, you’ll start shopping for those items at a variety of different retailers.  The last step is to bring all of these elements together in a beautifully curated space.
